Resort History
The origins of the resort started in 1947, when Lee and Daisy Miller created Bijou Skyway Park with one tow tope to the first 1000 ft, and another which led to Saddle Road. The Miller’s sold the resort in the 1950′s and it was renamed at that time to Heavenly Valley. Expansion continued throughout the 1950′s and 1960′s through adding more ski lifts and accessible terrain. Although the beginnings of the resort occurred in 1947, Heavenly celebrated its 50th anniverssary in 2005, as the California Base Lodge and single lift were constructed in 1955.
